Her family was in our travel group when we adopted our son from China, they were adopting a 10 year old boy who is absolutely precious. We have remained good friends and she is an amazing sister in Christ. Here is what she posted:
"My little cousins Sunday School class in Aberdeen is raising money for Valentin from now until Valentines!"
A precious little Sunday School class...raising money for Valentin...from now until Valentines...
Are there words for that??? I think I am going to need a lot of tissue...
Don't feel bad about accepting help. Through allowing others to participate, you are giving them the gift of sharing in the remarkable thing that is going to happen - a little boy who has suffered unimaginably is going to come into the sunshine of love, hope, and promise!
ReplyDeleteHe has touched so many with those beautiful eyes of his!
ReplyDeleteI love watching your donated dollars grow!! Here's hoping the full amount can be reached by Valentines!
Oh that is so sweet! The faith of a child is so precious, and I hope that Valentin can feel from where he is at right now! Blessings to you and your family!

ReplyDeleteLOVE YOU! Praying and praying for you friend!
ReplyDeleteI don't know you but I was connected to your blog thru Reece's Rainbow. I also live in Albuquerque. We lost our son last April in a failed corrupt adoption from uganda. We exhausted our financial resources - but I want to help with Valentin. Is there anything I can do to help you - meals, errands, anything like that? I am praying for you and for Valentin. "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future." jeremiah 29:11 my email is juliekwechsler@yahoo.com please let me know if I can do anything in a practical way to help your family.
ReplyDeleteWill be praying for your family and your son. I'll be adding Valentin for my prayer page:

This is all so wonderful! I cannot wait to finally see him escape his prison! We are adopting too and will be traveling to bring home twins at the end of the month if it is God's will. I agree about how hard it is to ask for help...but you get to the point where you know what you have to do (and that you are willing to work as hard as necessary) in order to get them home! Thank you for listening to the call from God to rescue this little boy!

Dear Ashton Family,
ReplyDeleteWe fell in love with little Valentin on RR when we first saw him about 6 months ago. The adoption system in Australia is quite different to the US, unfortunately we could never have adopted Valentin as we can't choose to adopt a specific child (it's an allocation system) and our government also has to have an adoption program with that country, which I don't think they do.
We have been following his journey ever since, including the blog of the last family who had hoped to adopt him. Perhaps their role in this was meant to be to advocate for him and lead your family to your newest son. I hope they take comfort from your blog as you work towards bringing him home.
We will try to put $5 each fortnight into his RR fund until you can bring him home. Best wishes from Australia for a speedy approval of your paperwork and a smooth journey to welcome Valentin into your family!
