Day 15: Stomach ick

Well, I have stomach ick and it's no fun.  I was up most of the night and day today and I cannot figure out if it was something I ate or maybe a stomach bug.  It is a half hour drive to the orphanages and there is just no way I could make it so I won't be seeing Valentin and Joey today.  I am very bummed, especially about not seeing Valentin, he needs all the stability and bonding he can get so I hate to miss even one day.  But it is what it is and I am trying to stay positive about it all.  I will admit being cooped up in the apartment has me feeling lonely and isolated and there have been tears today but I am keeping my eye on the big picture and God has been very gracious to me.  It also dawned on me that at home when I am sick like this there are still 3 little people (soon five) who need dressed, teeth brushed, fed, potty trips, played with, read to, taught, and bathed.  I am typing this blog post from bed where I have spent most of the day, when am I ever going to get this chance to stay in bed when I am sick again????  I better take advantage of it!

So since there are no pictures of sweet Valentin and Joey, I figured I would bring the cuteness from the 3 musketeers at home.  Nana and Pa have been so sweet to send pictures and videos and I cherish every one of them!  I miss them terribly but I know what a great time they are having with Nana and Pa and very soon now Tyler will be with them.

Making herself comfortable while on FaceTime with us

She loves to hide out in there and play with her princess dolls and duck toy

Pa took the boys to a sporting goods store and let them pick something out

This is the email I get from my mom with the following picture attached: "A grandmothers worst fear...I took my eyes off my daughters only little girl!!! I was panicked trying to find her in this house!   Little missy loves to be covered in pink! No wonder she has my heart!!! She literally was all the way inside the box!  Memories...cherishing every moment!"

  3. Jamie, I hope you are feeling better by now. What you are doing is so amazing and brave, I can't even begin to tell you what a hero you are for me. Does that sound cheesy? Well, maybe a bit but it's true. I'm reduced to tears whenever my man has to go on a business trip and I'm alone at home and it's even worse when I'm sick. I always knew that makes me a wussy but compared to what you do, I'm downright pathetic... I pray that time will pass quickly for you until Tyler will be back with you!!
You don't know me but should you wish some "company", I'd be happy to write emails with you or something like that. Anything to help you pass the time when you are not visiting the boys =)

    All the best,
    Maike

P.S.: Your children are so cute and wonderful, and soon you will have two more at home!!!
