To our son, with love

To our beloved son,

What we would give to be sitting face to face with you, pouring out our hearts to you in person rather then here. If we could go tomorrow, we would. But, we wait. And you wait. And we dream of the day our wishing becomes reality.

I wonder when our love for you began. It was very clear the moment we heard about you and saw your picture. There was no doubt you were our son and instantly our hearts ached to meet you, hold you, and welcome you home. But I think we loved you before that because we love the One who created you. And He, sweet one, has always loved you!

We know life for you has not been easy (to say the least) and we know it is going to take you a lot of time to learn to trust us and to love us. That's okay. We aren't going anywhere.

We pray that you are safe and well treated. We pray that God has begun and will continue to heal your body and your mind of the last 6 years. We pray that God is preparing your heart for what is about to happen. And above all else we pray that you KNOW that you are loved. Because you are SO. INCREDIBLY. LOVED.

  3. I have not commented before, but I am happy you have an anonymous option as I do not have a blog but love to follow families adopting. We have special needs twins we adopted from Ghana so know how the road is a long and rocky one, but oh so worth it! What a wonderful video compilation of such a sweet little boy and a wonderful family getting ready to take the leap of faith to make him one of their own! Perfect musical choice. We are not only praying for Valentin, but for you as a couple may you be a rock for each other and the Lord hold your hearts as you grapple with everything you will be seeing and experiencing. We also pray for your other special little ones for their adjustment and well beings as they prepare their hearts and home to share their parents with another sibling. Surely love with my multiplied with the addition of Valentin! Praying you guys home!

  6. There's still a glimmer there...in the eyes...strapped into the chair. It is fleeting but definite. It will take so much work and building of trust to bring that little spark back to a roaring blaze but God can do anything. I pray He uses the story of this child to do great and everlasting good. I want so badly for you to get travel dates SOON. Valentin needs the chance to amaze everyone.

  8. this is awesome! i have been desperately praying for the Lord to keep His mighty hand on this precious child while he awaits your arrival and his homecoming. Also praying the Lord strenthens your hearts for this long journey. i just want to say that when you are ready, after you have arrived home with valentin and have rested, if you can make it out to NW Montana i will love to bless you with all the therapy valentin will need to help him heal from his neurological/emotional/physical effects of the first years. i am a pediatric specialist neurological therapist and have worked with hundreds of dear children like valentin from all over the US, Canada and China. just say the word and we will make it happen. it will be a pure blessing to touch this treasure with hands of love. my email is gentletouches_mt@yahoo.com. praying the Lord will provide a wonderful free location for adoptive families to stay nearby so they can be %100 blessed!!! Much Love and Prayers, Lynn Marie

  9. I just found your blog off of the R.R site. I'm so glad I popped over to meet your beautiful family and Valentin! We are in the process of adopting a little boy with CP from China. We still have a long way to go before we can bring our boy home but we're working hard at it!
