A MUCH needed update

I receive comments and emails looking for an update and a thousand times I wanted to sit down to write an update but I just cannot seem to find the time.  Bohdan was diagnosed with Reactive Attachment Disorder which is an all consuming thing for our family.  Add that to all the other medical issues with 5 special needs kids, caring for and losing two grandmothers, a new baby, homeschooling, and just life in general and I hope you all can understand the lack of updates.  However, I wanted to at least pop in and let you all know that we are doing well.  God is good!  We appreciate that many of you still check in on the blog to see how we are doing.  I think of so many of you often and how you prayed for us and donated to our adoption and the love you have shown us.  I am sorry I don't update more.  I hope you won't mind just a picture update for now.

I don't know why we waited so long, but we finally got baptized!

Surprise!

After laying in cribs next to each other in the orphanage, "Valentine" (our Daniel) was reunited in the U.S. with "Stellan" (now Caleb).  I don't have to tell you what a sweet moment that was for me to see "Stellan" again, doing so well, and in a family.  It was wonderful to finally meet the family that adopted him!

  1. Thank you so so so much for updating. I was beginning to think your family had gone offline permanently. Daniel looks like he is getting so strong now. It is so good to see him out of a crib enjoying life. With six young kids, many with special needs, I am sure that you are very busy. Glad you took a moment to post the pictures. Congratulations on the baptism. God bless you.

  3. So happy to see an update from you! Congrats on the new baby, what a surprise to us readers LOL. No wonder you are so busy, as if you weren't before. The kids all look great, I don't know how you can stand that much cuteness! I hope Bohdan continues to make progress :)

  6. What a lovely family. I have not commented much, but having become something of an "expert" (however unwillingly) I would worry about a practitioner who still uses the "Reactive Attachment Disorder" phrasing. Those who seem to be really making inroads and helping these kids and their families prefer to call it "Developmental Trauma Disorder" and that's important, partly because it has a lot more compassion and hope involved. If you get a chance look at Daniel Hughes or Heather Forbes. With three children who experienced early trauma, I know that healing can occur!

  7. I loved the update, praying for your family. Still think of you when I think of Green Forest, the day you all walked out with Daniel.

  8. Woo to the hoo!!! An update!!! How exciting!!! I'm SO grateful!!! I cannot tell you how often I've thought of your boys, your family and hoped and prayed and wondered about you all. I tried looking you up on Facebook and found the AMAZING video of Daniel saying 'mama love you'. Wow!!!

Any chance you could update on all the kids ages now?? And what's the sweet little newest's name?? Know life is busy and crazy and wonderful and full - but any pictures and any info is appreciated! Will keep you in my prayers!
